Yo guys...

I have Line 6 DL-4 and MM-4 in my loop using RKII when switching out it appears that the L-6 stomp modelers have a significant high end loss when switched in ...

Its not the amp cos when nothing is plugged in the loops as blank dont do this... not cables cos I tried loads and its all the same... it also occurs if you have the modelers switched to true bypass mode and switch in/out like that

Anyone else use this gear and notice this? if so then fair enough, it's just how they work which is disappointing but at least its not broke gear...

Also does any one have the L-6 Echo pro (rack delay)?? does this occur on this unit because if not then its a poss alternative...

If its the case with line 6 gear in general then what about the Boss DD-20 ... anyone got that and can tell me how it fairs out on this issue? ... that would be the next option

what say ye??

I used to use a line 6 dl-4 and noticed that too, so i sold it and am looking into something new, but Keeley does a mod to fix that I think.

I always tell people this and they don't want to listen to me but DL4 and MM4 aren't line level devices, they're designed to be used in front of the amp.

I've used both the DL4 and the DD20 and I like the DD20 more.

Cool...

So then, I will keep the DL-4 as the pre-od delay and get the DD-20 which can be the post pre amp delay...

Does the DD-20 keep a decent treble response when switched in??

i thought the dd20 was really transparent. i don't have another one yet. seems like the dl4 sounds a little different every time you turn it on; the DD20 was very consistent for me. I also never had humming issues.

+1. i have a dd-20 and even in front of the amp i don't lose a noticable amount of treble. but with my mesa i put it in the parallel fx loop and have the pedal set to echo repeats only, and set at line level. it's the only pedal in the loop.

as for the line 6 modeler pedals, i used to own the mm-4. i too noticed that it took away some high end. actually, most of the modes seemed to make the signal a little thinner and quieter. i did like it for recording though. tons of options, and good for vocals, keyboard, whatever really.
