for my Ibanez S-470.

Im thinking Duncans.....but a few different factors come into play such as:

-I'll be using a 5150 for the time being while my Mesa Mark IV is being repaired. Would pretty much any SD pickup be better than the stock Ibanez pickups? Would the Full Shred or Invader pickups be on with both my amps?

anyone have any suggestions, for I cant possibly just try all these out in person.....i DID check out SD's website and heard some tones but its soooo tough to decide just on that.

the seymour duncan JB is a fantastic all around humbucker. great output and very versatile. i had one and i loved it!

I recommend the Bill Lawrence 500L series. Nothing beats them for clarity and output.

Originally I had the stock "Ibanez" Axis pickups, which are made by Dimarzio. I replaced em with pickups out of a Gibson Les Paul for a while before I got the BL pickups. Now the guitar is a monster.

I think the L-90XL might compete with the L-500. I got the L-500XL and the L-90L. The L90 is clearer, got a little more bottom end. The L-500 is more punching in low mid while the L-90 is more scooped and a little rounder. Paradoxically the L90 seems better in the crunch. Can't go wrong with the BL pups. I understand why they suggest the L-90 for moderate overdrive but it still kills for heavy music.

Btw I tried the seymour blackout humbucker and it totally slays in dirty sounds by its output. I must be cool with one of the emg's booster as tone control (spc, exg, rpc). Perhaps I'm not crazy about the neck for clean even both lack a little high compare to Bill Lawrence, what do I say... we can't compare the huge spectrum of BL's pups to active pups. Still, the blackout is really great with high gain, they are clearer than emg's and the sustain is great!

Nice guitar btw!

I have a set of Dimarzio Evo2/Evo neck pick-ups that i used exclusively with my old 5150. Sounded friggen awesome. They are blue and they are for sale.

What type of sound do you want, what type of music are you going to play, it's easier to give you a fair recommendation if we know that :)
