Hi, thanks for looking.
Unfortunately, I'm forced to sell my last remaining amplifier after selling others in the last year. I bought this amplifier as an inexpensive "giant killer" to fill the shoes of multiple amps I had to sell, and it did not disappoint. I bought it new in December from JCA with the Friedman Brown Eye and Saturation mods. When I received it, I had my good friend and tech install Sozo capacitors and the Metroamp Zero-Loss FX Loop (I decided after receiving it that I wanted an FX loop after all - I believe this is the same FX loop Friedman uses). Finally, after serious tube rolling, I settled on a new pair of JJ EL84s and a JJ ECC803S Gold Pin in V1. V2 and V3 are Chinese 12AX7A.
When I received the amp, it was one of the bunch with problems with the indicator lamp. They quickly sent a new one, and my tech installed it.
I've owned and played many hot-rodded Marshalls, and this one hangs with all of them. The Brown Eye mode is definitely classic Marshall territory. Flipping in the saturation really brings out the aggression in the amplifier, giving it a very modern tone that works for metal with my USA Soloist equipped with EMG 85/81.
The FX loop is incredibly transparent and works amazingly. Unfortunately, I do not have the jacks labeled. When the toggle is UP - FX loop is active. The jack on the right is SEND, jack on the left is RETURN.
The amp is in amazing (like new, minus modifications) condition, and includes:
- Friedman Brown Eye + Saturation mod
- Metroamp Zero-Loss FX loop
- Sozo capacitors
- JJ ECC803S Gold Pin and EL84s
- original box and packing material
- original paperwork
- power cable
I'm only selling this amp because I don't have time to play right now (getting two simultaneous graduate degrees), and in these difficult times, the money will certainly help.
The new JCA20H-BES w/ FX loop sells for $749.99. This one has better tubes and Sozo caps.
I'm only asking $575, shipping included.
If you are interested, feel free to PM me or send me an email at mikeklein311 AT yahoo DOT com.
Thanks again!
NOTE - YES, these are pictures of my amplifier. I took these pictures in February, but I am only getting around to selling it now. It's been a hell of a semester....
