i've had my ace head for almost a month now. really impressive amp, still getting used to it after a patchy start. a big difference for me was changing out the stock premap tubes, which i think are far too bright. I'm using a GT 12ax7m in v1 now and C9s the rest of the way with good results. gonna try some JJ's and tung sols later, and SED el-34s or even JJ KT-77s!
so far, I've mainly used 'fat clean' and 'tite clean' with the band with diode selected for both, but the last jam, I tried the other modes a bit more and now I"m really diggin the 'crunch' mode. thats a great brit dist sound there.
