II C+

I never really had been able to get a great tone out of this amp (II C+) in my MKV until today.

I mean, I could get ok tone but, nothing that would knock me out, the MKIV was always far superior. I had tried most all the combos, Full power, Variac, 90-45-10 watts etc. but today, for whatever reason I switched on the Pentode switch and... BAM!!!!!!!

What great tone!!!!!! Big Scoop on the EQ, bright on, full power and Dang :mrgreen:

Same thing happened to me. When I first got mine I had it on triode for the first few weeks and didn't even realize it. I was so relieved when I switched to pentode!

Very cool. I recently rediscovered the Mark II C+ mode by cranking the power pubes all the way and bringing up the gain. Raunchy clipped fuzz tones (Jack White/Black Keys) burst from my speaker.

Holy Guacamole!!!!!!

I put these settings on my combo and... Holy Guacamole!!!!!!

Only problem was, Ch. 2 sounded so thin on Crunch compared to Ch.3.
