China!

OMG they are outsourcing to china aren't they???
Not everything. The handles and corners will still be made in Indonesia.

lol I am sorry about starting this again, but hey, Egnater...

Yah, I agree that times are probably even tougher for smaller higher-ticket amp makers but a lot of them don't have much of a business back end to support, it's just nine or ten guys, some of whom are probably part-time, and a small workshop. Steve Fryette could probably run his business out of a double garage.

Also, just because somebody mentioned Diezel and H&K, those (and Engl) are a lot cheaper in Europe where Mesas are goofy expensive and where the economic slowdown hasn't been nearly as bad except for th e UK. A bunch of my family in Spain says that the only thing they've noticed over there is real estate has dropped and that's just because Brits aren't buying stuff up anymore.

Hello from the Tone Farm!

We are proud to introduce MESA/BUGERA Amplifiers: The Soul of Art in Technology

As we all know, times are tough and many of us are looking for more economical ways to live our lives. Here at Mesa, we share these same concerns. However, we try not to forget our roots. Mesa is a custom shop, and we will continue to operate in the same fashion as we have since 1969. Working with BUGERA will allow us to carry on in to the twenty-first century while continuing to build cost-effective, toneful amplifiers. We are currently tooling our brand-new factory in Shenyang, China, and we expect amplifiers to ship shortly.

The initial models built at the Shenyang facility will include the Express 5:25, the Express 5:50, the Mark Mini, and the Small Block 350.

Well I actually got a call from Mesa Boogie today and so I wanted to reiterate that this is a joke (although I would have liked to have kept it going for a couple more days  ).

Randall Smith has some very strong feelings about his amplifiers and I don't get the impression they'll be built anywhere other than California.

  Who called dealers asking about this? Had to be somebody.

Yeah...so I go in the shop today, and you showed me this and I was like "oh god, Mike Benedelli is going to have a ulcer..."

 good one man!

NOW QUIT MAKING SILLY INTERNET HOAXES AND FIX MY AMP!

hahah good joke!
now... if Mesa ever decides to build amplifiers in China, I would be  to say the least...and I hope that never happens. The Mesa Boogie brand is known and respected for their high quality custom shop products made in USA and that is something not to mess with... as long as Mesa keeps on doing things the way they always did, everything will be great...

PS:even if this sounds too obvious I still wanted to post it

Yeah, but Mesa may just keep the custom shop stuff exclusive to the U.S. and have everything else built in China. This is (hopefully) pure BS speculation, of course, but I'm happy I already have my Mesas. :)

Remember that Mesa Boogie got a trademark for "Transaxis"......?

Could it be they are planning a replacement for the Triaxis... a rack mountable Mark V preamp w/ MIDI control? that would be sweet!!

(disclaimer: i have no knowledge of such a thing, other than what my dreams conjure...)

I'm guessing they figured out their mistake so the are introducing the Mark IV C+
