I am done buying Mesa gear.

I do have to say you need some modern stuff.

It's funny, hearing a guy with 16 4x12s diss the Thiele. Like Paul Newman telling the go-kart driver to watch his apexes.

The trick for the thieles is to stack them on top of eack other. Then stand at a minimum distance of 15 feet out in front of them. Any closer and the sound waves don't have room to diffuse properly. A pair of 4x12's stacked will diffuse the sound at any distance, mainly because of the height. A 1x12 EV thiele will sound as big as a horizontal Celestion loaded Recto 2x12 cab, but they will both put the sound at your kneecaps if you don't stand far enough away. FWIW, I don't think Dave was dissing the Thiele, just citing his preference. No harm in that. My new setup is going to consist of four EV thieles stacked in pairs and spread apart about 4 feet, angled slightly inward to cross the sound path. In stereo C+ mode, of course.

Peace out

I think we should sign you up for an episode of the A&E show "Intervention." You are going to hurt someone or yourself if you don't get help soon.......

You could entertain at "The Center for the Deaf" with that rig.

It'd be the first time the ward nurse ever had a patient ask for ear plugs.

Perhaps the first time for a fresh diaper request?

i need some of these cabs... :( :( :(

Holy God, that's like porn for Mesa lovers.....

Seriously, ever had them all going at once??? I'm picturing Michael J. Fox at the beginning of "Back to the Future". Weeeeee!

Awesome, man!

Just curious, do you actually use all your gear or do you just collect them.

Seems like a waste to have all that just sitting around in a basement somewhere.

Of course if you want to send some out to play send them my way.

I use most of it...just not every day. I tend to use the Boogies over my Marshalls. I have a 67 plexi that I have not played in 3 years since it needs a cap job.

The stuff I have really isnt that impressive. I see people buying Gibson Historic guitars more expensive than my mesa gear. I just like having the option to create almost any sound I want. Most of my Marshalls were purchased in the late 80's or early 90's...before the prices went through the roof!!!

Glad to see you found that final straight cab and that you have all the Mesa sounds you have been searching for.

Your presence here on the board will be missed.

I am sure you have been a hero/nemisis to many.

I still have my eye out for straight cabs for my forum friends 8)

I did not expect anyone who was "done buying Mesa gear" , has completed his rigs and has nailed his tones to continue frequenting this wonderful place on a regular basis.

Didn't mean to give a bad vibe man. When I think of the BB, PsychoDave is one of the top five people I think of, due primarily to his love/desire/lust for halfback cabinets.

Peace and Happy New Year to all the Boogie Boarders out there.

Bobby
