mesa boogie dual rec. #R0203

hey guys i'm new to this forum... i've had my mesa boogie for a number of years, i use to play out alot but now i have to move into an apartment in the city, and i need cash.

anyhoo, i took a bunch of pictures and i started to post it on ebay, and i decided to look up the serial R0203... i found on wickipedia and they say that anything from R0001-R0500 is a "holy grail" of amps.

so yeah, now i don't know what to do... should i sell it on ebay or post it on here?... how much should i ask for it ... its in good condition, minor scratches on the bottom, but the entire thing is solid through and through. i just don't know what to do ?

advice?

If its the regular recto type (aluminum diamond plate/black chassis) then I would say that you could get some where between $1,200-$1,400. If it is the chrome chassis, Black diamond plate version, then I think you could get more for it....maybe $1,600-$1,800 maybe more....bidding has gotten crazy on these in the past on ebay...If I was you, I would try to sell on this board....see if you get any good offers. That way you can avoid all of the hassel of the ebay fees etc. If you don't get any good offers (or there is a high demand on here and you get too many offers), then I would send it to ebay and let the highest bidder get it. Goodluck!!

PS.
a 3rd option would be not to sell it! Those things sound great!

i'm going to take a picture of it when i get off of work today...

the front diamonds i guess (it kinda looks like those trucks beds) thats all black...

right below it where the switches and dials are thats all chrome...

and the power light is blue

i'll post pictures later of it, i've gotten a few messages from people willing to help me appraise it which is awesome! so i'll get going with that right away

You know i was going to sell it cause i use to play in a band and now i don't, so i don't have a practice space for it. Plus i can really really use the money...

Since finding out that it is a sought after amp, i have been debating keeping it... but you know what, it was awesome playing it, it served me well, and now it needs to be sold

i don't want to keep something just to have it, although bragging rights would be nice

You should sell it to a boogie board member! We try to keep the pre-500's "in the family" so to speak

it's a little dirty on the insides. if you clean it up, you can get more for it.

You have to be careful though. I can tell you how I cleaned mine later...right now I g2g.

You also really need to pull the chasis out and take pictures of the inside. I believe yours is a revision C.

If you pull the chasis you can also find the exact date it was made.
