how can i tell if my tubes are gone??

hi...i was just playing my recto preamp today and ive noticed its alot thinner sounding than yesterday. alot less sustain and stuff... im just wondering maye my tubes are going out??

Also my effects send swtich is broken ?? cause i can move it clockwise anywhere, it doesnt stop at 100% it keeps going around...and they are all difrent volumes.. its weird

The only ways to tell for sure about your tubes is to either use a tube tester...or just change them to a new set and see if it sounds better.


As far as the broken knob...just take it to your repairman...should be a quick cheap fix.

Tap lighty on the tubes to listen for wierd noise as suggest on the manual..Wat tubes r u using?

Yeahh that is totally true.
But the tube preamps rarely gones bad, they manage a bit power and they doesn´t suffer as power tube amps.
