I thought I'd post these because Mesa helped me out. I ordered those leather corners to match my Express and it turned out pretty cool.

Here is a complete build with all parts and tools shown plus most of the steps along the way if you're interested.

Nice job. I never thought about leather corners. Did you buy them or make them yourself? You did a good job.

17 Pedals on that - why so many

Well....why not?

About a third of the pedals I never use live but just use for fun at home. I have changed a few things since these photos The TonePress (compressor) I just didn't care for and went back to a compressor I really liked a Guyatone ST-2. I replaced The Digitech Hardwire SC-2 with an MXR DIII and replaced the Hardwire TL-2 with a Wampler Pinnacle II. I replaced the Russian Muff with a BYOC germanium fuzz. Plus I added a Lovepedal Vibe after the compressor. So now there are 18. I have a Subdecay Proteus I would like to add on but no room and an Akai Headrush 2, no room. It's pretty set now the way it is.

What I use live are :
Wah
Tuner
Compressor
Tim
Pinnacle
DIII
both fuzzes
EVH Phase 90
Hardwire DL8
and Hardwire chorus

hehehe - there's lots of good reasons to keep pedal numbers as low as possible - like
minimising amp tone suck issues
much less to go wrong
weight - ease of transport
quicker set up, tear down time
less $$ cost
and ....do I really need all these extras - especially with amps as versatile as the Express.
That's one reason I bought it - so I could minimise pedal use - 8 is my personal limit.
But you obviously enjoy it all so great

I don't even see a use for 8. :)

Sometimes, dare I say it, I just go to practice with my amp and the board stays at home. When I was a kid I saved and bought a used Les Paul because that was the absolutely coolest guitar to own in High School back around 1975. Then I scraped for an amp (a Peavey 2x12 tube) and I could never really afford pedals other than eventually I got a wah. Then I sold the LesPaul about 1980 then got married, went in the Navy etc. It wasn't till 2001 I got back into electric guitars. Now I have a decent job and can afford some of the stuff I always wanted. MXR Phase 90 -EVH was the first pedal I bought because I really wanted a script Phase 90 back in the day. Then I started buying and trading pedals and they were mostly in a drawer at home. I decided I wanted all of the coolest available for me to actually have fun with! So this is what I ended up making. Truly a wah and a Phase 90 with my amp could cover 95% of the music I play live but....ya know chicks dig it

Ah, that explains it then. I love pedals too, but only ever use a few. Wha and delay is about it for me as a regular thing. After years playing with pedals, I just seem to gravitate back to that raw straight into the amp sound.

Having played in bands for most of my 57 young yrs. There was no pedals at first; Cream and Hendrix came along and everyone wanted a wah pedal. Then phaser pedal. As bands were added in the late 70's, there was the chorus pedal, the rotovibe, and big Muff fuzz. Distortion was for the amp to provide, until Ibanez came out with the TS808. Boss pedals came out big time after that. DOD tried. I have come down from 15 pedals to about 6. I say this from the perspective of a gigging musician. Pro tourers need more.

I love lots of buttons! Here's my FX implementation into a Furman SPB-SC Rolling case....

Although I have had BOSS multi FX units and refrigerator sized midi racks, I enjoy having access to different analog pedals/ sounds... There is a company in Poland that I came across that makes very programmable and useful loopers..G-LAB. I use three pieces from them as outlined below...

I securely packed the following onto the board... 11 pedals, a Line6 wireless Receiver, a MESA V-Twin Preamp (underneath the wireless receiver), a Cry Baby Super Wah and G-LAB True Bypass Wah PAD, a G-LAB six channel Effects looper/ Controller, a G-LAB four Channel loop expander for the GSC-2, a clock and a modified "Easy Button" which controls the Tech21 Boost DLA... Everything is mounted using Bike chain links, custom brackets and screws (No Velcro! )

The G-LAB GSC-2 Controller allows programming of different FX loops and also controls the channels on my V-Twin Preamp and the Reverb on/off on my Express 5:25. The GSC-2 also allows you to switch a single Pedal on/off within a patch.

The G-LAB Wah Pad places the Wah into the signal path by just putting weight on the pad underneath the wah, otherwise it is true bypassed. The CryBaby is forced "always on" with a special washer on the switch so that you don't switch it off by mistake. There is also a sense line between the wah pad and the GSC-2 controller that can switch in other pedals through the loop controller when you step on the wah pad. I use this in some patches when I need to add a boost during a wah solo.

It's over 45 Pounds in weight, but, it allows me to forge different sounds using differnt combinations of pedals.

I hope that you enjoy the pix!

That is jaw-dropping awesome! One of the coolest and most original pedalboards I have ever seen. I bow to your expertise!!!

Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed the pics 8)

Unfortunately these are now out of production but more than any other single pedal this is probably what I need most:
