I just got a 50 Caliber head about a month ago, and the actual amp not including the chassis is around 22 inches. But I saw this on ebay last night and it kinda confused me:

Is it possible that this came out of a 50-cal combo and got put in a rackmount kit? or was there an actual rackmount 50 cal available at some point?

Quite possibly, that rack-mounted 50 Caliber is a "short head" format and could have come out of a combo or a head, it depends on what the original owner purchased.

So if I bought a 50cal combo, i could take it out of the chassis and rackmount it if i wanted?
