Greetings and salutations!

So just coming back to playing my guitars again after about 2 and a half years. Mostly due to a slow recovery from dislocated fingers and my rig being packed up.

Anyway, my Roadster is set up and ready to go, I just want to get some nice tones to start off with before I dive into dialing again.

Tones I'd like to mimic:
Adam Jones' tool tone.
Billy's tone from A Perfect Circle
John Petrucci Tone.
Steve Lukather tone.
MLoR era Gilmour tone.
Nice Gainy tones.
Metal Tones.
Etc.

Guitars:
JP Musicman
Ibanez Prestige S
Les Paul Standard

I enjoy playing the JP the most so if I can get the going on that I would be stoked!

Any assistance will be much appreciated :D

Scroll down your mouse on this same page (rectifier series) and you have a topic with that subject.
Welcome!

Thanks for the pointers guys :) And yes, it is good to be back!

I got a sweet as tone on Channel 3, sounds like I just stole AJ's rig :p I will post it when I get home (am at work at the moment)

Short question, I have access to my Brother's Tubescreamer and VTwin. How do one of both these go in conjunction with a Roadster amp? And should I place them in the effects loop or elsewhere?

Tubescreamer is good. Put it in front.

Ok thanks. Should I place all my pedals in front? I've read a bit on here that placing pedals in the effects loop can mess with the gains (at least that's how I understood it)? Is this so even if I have the effects off on the footswitch?

I have all my pedals in front except the boss ge-7 eq (the only in fx-loop). Phaser, od, big muff (this ones in the loop of the noise supressor ns-2), chorus, delay wah and vol all in front (I'm planning to put all in a rack and then via RJm rg-16 or gcx audio switcher make loops to control those via floorboard). Pedals like delay or chorus I've remove those from the fx-loop. They sounded different, like the effect want to come out but it cant in a transparent way, not clear like in the front. Plug your tubescreamer in the front and in the fx-loop and you'll see what I mean.
