Cranked up my rig (triaxis, mesa 290 power amp) ran it just over half, then smelt a burnt electrical smell. Pulled it out and pulled the cover off.
One of the transformers has the burnt electrical smell. All wires fine.
Still runs fine, just smells.
Any ideas about what might be going on? What should I do?
Thanx

Any smoke? Could it just be that you don't normally get the amp that hot and it was cooking off some dust or flux or something? Did you double check that you are running the right impedance so the transformers don't overheat?

I no longer have my 2:90, but seem to recall a not uncommon failure mode where a couple of the connectors develop poor conductivity, then acr and melt the connector. The fix was to solder the wires directly to the PCB. I was going to do this to my 2:90 but ended up selling my 2:90 / Triaxis rig instead.

I believe that the wires/connector that develops this probelm are coming from the transformer. I suggest you take a closer look at these connections.

Good luck.
