Help me choose a delay pedal. Need preset memory.

Hi, I am looking for a delay pedal with these characteristics:

-Need to have preset memory
-Transparency when on, True Bypass when off
-Can be powered by a BBE Supacharger (9V-16V, max 200mA)
-Looper would a "nice to have"

I was looking for the following but they all have something I dislike:

-Eventide Timefactor: my first choice but it cannot be powered by my BBE. ****! So close...
-TC Nova Delay, Boss DD-20 and Line6 DL 4 all discarted because of the tone suckage

Any other suggestion?

I have a TC Nova delay and "tone suckage" has never been an issue with ANY rig I have played with....Its a great pedal, but I dont think the Supacharger can power it ( ND1=250mA)

Buy a Road Rage looper for the offending units.. I have their four unit box. I'm only needing two of the positions thankfully.

...because I am about to receive a 3K$CAN head: MKV. I don't want to ruin the tone with a 100$ pedal. (I do see the difference)

No seriously, I am becauming more and more picky about tone suckage because I had very bad experience in the past. Not that I refuse a pedal not true bypass but well, I try to choose them whenever possible.

In terms of transparency, I read a lot of good things... I suppose I will have to handle a second power source on the board. I'll live with that if it is what it takes...

voodoo coming out with a product (hopefully soon) that will power Timefactor. Then you can just route everything to one unit with one plug going out of your board - no power strip(s) needed. As for now, I use voodoo pp2+ to power everything with the barrel connectors, and plug the Time Factor into the courtesy outlet on the back of Voodoo - so I still only have one plug leaving my board.

The purity of tone with an Eventide Timefactor is one of the best I've heard. Even with the effect engaged, the dry signal coming thru is so pure...

As for the power options, maybe BBE have cables that fit the Timefactor? Also, I do know Burkey sell them power cables. Maybe they can retrofit with your BBE???

Yeah the courtesy outlet is the thing I miss with the BBE...
I may try to sell it and get the Voodoo...
You are able to connect the power block of the Timefactor direclty in it? I read that the access is not easy and you need a short regular power cord to make the connection...

I just bought the line 6 dl4. It has a 14 second looper and some nice delays and...... you can store 3 different presets.

Sorry dude can't agree on the tone suckage with the line 6. I've been scrolling through the delays and find it pretty transparent.

In doing so I switch the effects loop on and off with the pedal engaged. There is only in one setting that I find a slight volume drop but nothing significant. It's in the analog with mod. But all in all I'm very happy with it.

Sounds exactly like a Line 6 DL4. I had one, they are great. For me, I just wanted the simplicity of an MXR Carbon Copy.

Sounds exactly like a Line 6 DL4. I had one, they are great. For me, I just wanted the simplicity of an MXR Carbon Copy.

If you put a parallel cable into the 2 200ma outlets on the supacharger then this will give 400ma at 9v and may be enough to power the Timefactor.

Nova Delay- yes, Timefactor- not even close...they pull 1200 mA. I wish it were that easy...

The Timefactor wall wart is rated at 1200ma. If you do some research you will see that the Timefactor actually draws more like 400ma. Try looking around at the eventide stompbox forum or the burkey flatliner site for example before you start making erroneous assumptions.......

I spend some time on the Eventide site- and it looks like someone is powering a factor with a PP2+ via the solution you proposed. I will wait and check back to see if they have continued success- I am "ok" with the wall-wart in my rig for now...time will tell.... as for "erroneous assumptions", I will continue to value the advice of the product manufacturers, thanks-
