Guitar Solo's Pro Tools 11.

Probably already covered but...Should you record your guitar solos bone dry and then slap on the effects through Pro Tools 11? (I realize the convenience of this, since you can play with effects settings instead of being stuck with an effect you recorded) or can you or should you record with your effects (pedals) ala reverb, delay, eq etc to have your own unique tone so to speak. Also how do the "pros" usually do it?

At my recording studio, I'd say 4 out of 5 guitarist went dry and then added effects. The one out of five either always had their effects the same way all the time, and some could only get a vibe with the effect running.

I am just new to it, so I don't posses much information related to it but as far as my knowledge I would always prefer record with your effects (pedals) ala reverb is the best to do.
