I am wondering if I can swap out the old tubes in my amp 12ax7 str420's to the groovetubes 12ax7r would this be ok or is the not the best pre amp tube to go with?

prob ok... the 12ax7c's are supposed to be warm and fat - the 12ax7m's are supposed to be very nice.

Please don't buy Groovetubes...
Buy tungsols or something else.
I've been told by a few people that Groovetubes and many other tube manufacturers are RELABELS with a higher price.
That's like paying $9 for a bottle of Bayer aspirin when you can buy the exact same pill with a Hannaford label on the bottle for $4. They literally come from the same factory, they just get stamped with a different name.
