Has anyone got any idea how many gainstages my mark III blue stripe has (in lead)
I found a site saying 70's and 80's boogies have got four or five gainstages in their leadchannel

Off the top of my head, without looking at the schem ,I believe it has four. Not sure if the reverb has gain in that circuit but that would make 5.Go to Schematic Heaven and look it up to be sure.

When I look at the schematic I think it's only four
But I'm not that sure
Strange actually
I was looking at the different tube fuctions in the mark IV and it seems to have five gain stages
While people say the mark III hasn't got less gain than the IV

So you say only four gainstages??
Then I don't understand why the mark IV isn't more gainfull then mark III

I always heard the lead circuit of the mark IV is the same as that of the IIC+
And as far as I know it has got the same amout of gainstage as the mark III

In some schemes it look like one part of V2 is used for some gain too
And for the mark IV it's indicated like that on the user manual
And another question that came up
Is there any difference in numer of gain stages between the different
stripe models of the mark III

In the manual of the mark IV they call the buffer a gainstage too
Would there be something different in that buffer
Thanks for the answer
I adore my mark III it's great
