So my band just played a gig on Halloween, it was the Stiletto's first live gig since mothballing my Rectoverb. Let me tell you, this thing is sick. Whether it was the straight rock stuff or heavy modern with an EQ, this thing can definitely do it all. This amp's versatility is outrageous. I know some people said the Stiletto can't handle modern metal, but I threw my EQ in there and was banging out Tool and Avenged Sevenfold with no problem whatsoever. I just had to praise this amp one more time, it's the first time I got to play it cranked. By the way, I'm running it through an EV 12L loaded Boogafunk Thiele.

I was also wondering about the Mark V. I was thinking of selling my Rectoverb for either a Dual Rec head or the new Mark, if there's even such a thing. :D

Glad you are happy with your amp man. I am happy with mine but i've thought about ditching the GT-8 and going back to pedals. This time in the form of only the ones I need... EQ, wah, delay, and a BB preamp would be a sweet addition to the Stiletto's tone palette as well... Maybe one day.

cool, glad the stiletto is pushing your buttons.

Can I ask what eq you have and what your settings were, I am very tempted to get one for my Ace.

Cheers

I'm running a Boss GE-7. It's probably not the best EQ on the market, but it does the trick. I only use it if a tune really needs a more modern sound and/or mud to it. Truthfully, though, I probably wouldn't even need the EQ, but for some songs it just adds that little extra bit of kick.

i use a ge7 on my Ace and I think it adds a lot of body to the tone (as do all of my bandmates). I have it in a slight smile (bass/treble up slightly, mids more flat). There's a $30 mod out there too that sounds like it really improves the clarity and tone of the ge7. I may try that. People sure seem to like the mxr 10 on this board too.

You can buy the kit off Monte Allums site, its easy to find but if you are stuck let me know and I can get you the link.

The mod itself is I think $26.99 and its pretty easy to do if you have used a soldering iron before.

If you own a GE7 put simply you MUST do this mod to it,it makes the eq useable because the stock pedal was far far too noisy to use except where I really needed it and after the mod my eq is now always on whereas before it was very sparingly if at all.

It also improves the sound of the eq over the whole spectrum
