Finally had a chance to turn it up....with the band!!!

This thing is full of soul...I mean it!!!

Every note is articulated and full. My tele never sounded sooooo
"woody" and vocal. Using the volume knob and working the amp's
responsiveness was unreal...it seemed to know exactly what I was
feeling.

It was one of those nights where I wasn't playing music, I was just
standing there with my eyes closed, and the music was playing me!

I know I'm preaching to the choir kinda thing...but I thought I'd share.

Yeah...that's a good way to put it. There is a definite connection there.
I never played an amp as musical before now.

This band is mostly into the classic rock/jam band stuff for the most part.
Our drummer is pushing 60 so we try to keep beats simple; think Dead, Stones,
etc. I'm the youngest at 40

I kinda tweak as I go and I've changed 'em a bit since but this is close.

ch1/45/fat/eq off/tubes
Gain - 2:30
Master - 2:00
Pres - Noon
Treble - 1:30
Mids - Noon
Bass - 12:30

ch2/45/eq off/tube
Gain - 1:00
Master - 10:00
Pres - 11:00
Treble - 2:00
Mids - 12:30
Bass 11:30

Just a question, in no way knocking your settings. Every mess with the eq? I think I understand from your posts you keep it off. It is a very effective tone shaping part of the amp. Footswitch on/off use.

No knocks taken...

But no, I haven't messed with the eq all that much aside from
funnin' around with the classic V shape on ch3 to cop a
"Creeping Death" sound.

I've eq'd the highs out of a Traynor before and kinda relied
on it for a while. Guess I haven't had the need to get that
granular with the Mark V yet. So far sounds good, but I'll
make sure to experiment with it next time around.
