I'm new to this forum. Have been playing for many years. In my search for an amp that weighs less than my Electra Dyne, I've ordered a Fillmore 50. I don't know if there is still interest about this amp, but I will post up my experiences. I have not had the opportunity to play through a Fillmore, so this will be my first. Thanks.

I got home after work, unpacked and plugged in. I played for two hours straight. That’s a good sign. What a great sounding amp. It’s tricky dialing in drive tones. The tone controls interact with one another more than I’m used to. It’s going to take some exploring for sure. So far everything sounds really good to my ears in the clean and drive modes. All my pedals sound better in this amp, which is nice. More to come.

I've also been wanting a lighter version of the Electra Dyne.
I'd like maybe a 50/25 watt version with 2 or 3 channels set up similarly to the RA-100. Clean channel has it's own eq and gain/volume controls. Lo and Hi could be separate or combined.
The Fillmore might be the one! There's also the Triple Crown. I like the way the TC is set up, but Idk if it's much lighter than the Electra Dyne?
So, what do you think about the Fillmore 50? I know you've just had it a couple of days now, but how's it compare to the mighty Electra Dyne? Does it have tone? The Electra Dyne just has that organic, purity, ultimate touch sensitivity, etc that you normally only find in very simple, vintage amps. Although it looks very simple, if you peek inside the Electra Dyne it is not simple. It is very far from a simple vintage amp.

I've really only spent a couple hours with the Fillmore 50. I thinks the clean tones are more dynamic than the ED. I've loved the ED clean tones too! I've found some great drives tones on the Fillmore. The tone controls are touchy and interact with each other a lot. I'm still exploring. I've found some sweet clean and drive tones and also have dialed in harsh tones. So far, I'd be able to play a gig with this amp as easily as I would with the ED. It's not as loud as the ED. Fillmore sounds better at lower volumes. Great for at home. I'll post up some videos of tonal examples after I get some time on this amp.

After a half hour tonight at moderate and low volumes, I will say this amp has smooth warm overdrive tones galore. The Fillmore just smolders. You can sustain notes that end in sweet harmonic over tones. I love that kind of stuff. I’m really happy with this amp! Great job Mesa Boogie.

Congrats on your new Fillmore 50, it's an awesome amp. I love mine very much. As for dialling tones, think of 10 o'clock as the new 12 o'clock, especially on the Drive and Hi modes. The Bass is tuned differently on the Fillmore, and sometimes might feel like there is a lack of bass. Setting the Treble-Mid-Presence at 10 o'clock, and adjusting the Bass from there really do a big difference IMO. You can add some Master volume to compensate. Got this trick on TGP from another Fillmore user. It did the trick for me.

That sounds about right where I'm at with miss and highs. I can't wait to get it out with a band.
