Are the mesa casters which slide into the trak-loc generic casters that can be found at most hardware stores, or something unique to Mesa? Thanks.

You may be able to find generic casters that fit your amp/cab.

However, the Mesa ones have release/lock buttons that prevent the casters from sliding out during transport.

Yes they are generic.
The "trak-loc" plates onto which the caster slide and lock into have nothing to do with the caster itself.
The "release/lock buttons" the mandoismetal refers to is on the trak-loc plate not the caster.

I know of a place where you can get casters.
I just got to find it. When I do I'll let you know their website.

But you should be able to get them at a hardware store or Home Depot etc....
Just remove one of the trac-locks from your cab and bring it with you to make sure what they have is the right size and slides in/fits properly.

The brand name is TrioPines.
Is the traklock base for 2" vs" 3" a different size base?

I have a similar question. I assume the 2" to be the height dimension. I'd like to add the 3" to the front to create tilt-back of the amp for stage volume sans monitors...
