I just auditioned for a new metal bad thursday night and it was the first
time i got to hear my f30 in a band setting. even the 1x12 held its own
against a 5150-2, and a VERY loud drummer. not alot of bass, but it
screamed very nicely. they asked me back last night so
i decided to bring my 4x12. for some reason, the whole night, no matter
what i tried, it sounded farty and flubby and not very loud. so after rackin
my brains with different speaker combos and eq settings i finally gave up.
after we were done practicing i looked in back and noticed one of my
power tubes was half way out of its socket! it was at an angle so like
2 or 3 of the pins were out, but the rest were in. shut down the power,
popped it back in and WHAM, sounded GREAT again. TIGHT bass and
about 3 times louder. i love this amp......
