I bought a F-30 and have been able to get a nice Larry Carton smooth tone out of it on both channels. I like it but its a bit boxy.

I played the Lonestar Special at the shop also but only for a few minutes due to the wait to play it! For those of you who have it, have you (or do you think) you can get a nice Larry Carlton and/or Robben Ford sound out of the Lonestar?

I'm trying to decide to keep the F-30 or bite the bullit and buy the Lonestar Special.

Thanks for your comments, in advance :)

I can't say enough about the special,

I've gotten almost every tone imaginable out of it
and I'm still just dorkin aroung with it, I just got it

Not that familiar with the music you mention, but
this is the smoothest amp by far that I have played

The only thing it may lack is maximum punchiness

I only spent a little time with the F-30, wasn't crazy
about it, and wouldn't consider it in the same league
as the special

I can't speak to the specific tones you are looking for, I have been too hung up on the Tiger Roach tones on my lss to try any others. :D

I'm sure you would love the LSS though. However the F30 is a fine amp in its own right. Maybe you should save the extra cash for your next guitar or just buy something nice for your favorite girl friend.
