EFX Loop Advice requested.

So looking at the manual, Reading about the fx loop & the level control. I've always set mine at noon. The only thing I have running thru it is my line level delay, which works fine. Am I correct that I can adjust that to accept a delay pedal that is not line level, and get a good sound? I've had the same set up on my pedal board for years, buy am going to try a few new things in the near future. I never really thought about it, Thank you!
