Interesting mostly from the 12283 serial number standpoint. IIC+ for Dummies has "The earliest IIC+ found to date was a 12,33X dated 2/84."

That is an interesting ad. I feel like I've seen those pics before...but I'm probably mistaken. Or it was listed somewhere a while ago and never sold, and this listing is new. Zendesk says serials *12400 - 14999, but like you said above, there are earlier serials. What did MB mean by "warmer version of C+"?

As for warmer version it was right after saying it had the 100 PT vs the 105PT so the inference is less plate volts is "warmer".

My SRG C+ serial #12310 is supposedly factory. I am sending it in soon and will hopefully get a definitive answer on it. Mine has the RP11 preamp board and is definitely of the warmer variety...

There is a "warm" (early) and a "bright" (later) version of the C+ that Mike can switch between when servicing. I think (?) it has to do with a bright cap on the treble circuit?

Anyway, my earliest factory one I had was 12314. RP11, PT105, DRG. Got it in 2022 for $1499 labeled as a MkIII. It was one of the better DRGs I've had.
