Hi guyz, i just bought a used dual rectifier and when i first turn it on (and the standby is on) with the footswitch plugged in it gives a buzzzz noise coming from in the chassy and all the lights on the front of the amp come on 1 at a time for the duratiion of the buzz ,when the footswitch is not plugged in it won't do it. i called mesa and they said that was normal in a certain series of rectifiers but i hate that sound anybody else's do that? Can it be fixed? The guy i bought it from said it has always done that.

All 3 Channels do that. My 08 Recto does it. Totally normal. No you can't fix it.

And don't even think about asking about a "popping" when switching channels.

if you hit a channel button on the footswitch as soon as you flick it on, you get no buzz. i think it just doesnt know what channel to start on

i tried what u said and that didn't work it wont respond to anything until after the buzzing, its more like a aiennnkkk. I just hate that sound it doesnt do it every time either thats whats wierd about it,only like when the tubes are cooled off, like a cold start. I thought it was a short at first, but everyone says its normal,it just seems cheap to me that mesa let that happen on a $2000 amp!!!!

mine varies from long buzzes to short ones. usually as soon as i hit a button on the footswitch it goes away. its not like it really matters anyway.

and if it does matter to you, just bypass the footswitch at the back, then after its plugged in flick it on.

my 2009 DR does it as well. I actually like it. It sounds like frankenstein wakeing up

I wonder if these are some of the fixes talked about in the Boogie propaganda for the 2010, on all the lessons learned over the last decade.

You would think Mesa would do something to fix this on these amps even though it's not a huge deal. I'm still waiting on one of the local music stores to get a 2010 DR in stock so I can check out the changes but so far no one close has one yet :(
