Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster here.
my dual rectifier (3 channel) recently has been having some sound issues. this affects every channel on the amp, and it increases with gain. I can turn the master all the way up with no gain and no annoying noise comes out, but as soon as I put some gain, the sound comes back. This leads me to believe that it is my preamp tubes (v1 specifically) although it doesn't seem to do that one noise when nothing is plugged in, but it will squeal when I turn up the gain with nothing plugged into the input. I was going to retube it with fresh mesa tubes (it has el34's in it as well, so I wanted to do a full retube with 6l6's anyway) and wanted to make sure that it should fix my problem. I have also recorded a sound clip (please excuse my lack of eloquence, I am after an ankle surgery and hopped on some drugs haha).

edit. I also read the info about revisions and etc. and was wondering which my 3 channel might be! I've also attached a photo of the serial

The 'revisions' you speak of are for the early 2 channel rectos. The three channel only has had one revision, 5 years ago or so with the multi-watt. I would guess you have the original 3 channel based on the serial.

I have no answer for your noise issue, sounds pretty bad. Was that recorded with the volume maxed?

Yeah, it's something related to V1. Hopefully just the tube. Set fx loop to bypass, then you can pull out the fx loop tube and use it in the V1 slot to test.
