I recently looked at a used dual rectifier for $1100. Its a 100 watts and sounded absolutely amazing. It has 4 new 4 10's in it and not bad condition. It's a little bit older but sounds like its new. anyone tell me if its a good deal?

Sounds like a good deal to me! (but what are 4 new 4 10's? Wait, this isn't one of those 4x10 combos is it?)

ow there the tubes in it apparently there rare and not many amps have them they sound really good.

heres some thinks to some photos of it

thats a pretty nice looking Maverick. I thought the 4x10 combo was 40watts and ran on EL84s? I'm unsure about the price of them sorry.

Ah, the Maverick. That's not really a Dual Rectifier. It is, but it isn't. It's a Dual Rectifier, as in two different means of rectification and it's part of the same family as the Solo Head, but it's not the Dual Rectifier that is typically talked about and used by everybody and their uncle.

The Maverick is a medium gain amp, not high gain like the Solo Heads. If you like how it sounds, then $1100 isn't a bad deal for that amp.

haha, i love how little the seller actually knows about the amp.

Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier
The Band is switching to Peavey, so we are getting rid of the Mesa. This thing has friggin intense sound. You can either play on solid or tube, and it's kicking out of a very rare 4 10's. We have played a few gigs with it, but it doesn't suit the sound, but without having it mic'd, it fills a bar. Asking $1200.00 obo. See our other adds

I don't know much about the going rate on those but $1100 canadian seems like a pretty solid deal, but i'd find out exactly what "rare" speakers are in it. You also mentioned that the tubes were rare too, but based on the picture they appear to be your typical Mesa branded tubes.

On a side note, it pains me to see all the awesome gear for sale on some of those kijiji sites out west. Here in NB all we get is no-name knockoff guitars from kids who couldn't wail like they could on guitar hero, and **** practice amps. Anything good that pops up is foolishly overpriced. sigh

Depends on what style you wanna play, but if it's anything remotely metal, Class A and 4x10" speakers are a pretty crappy combination IMO! :(
