I was looking around at DR's on evil bay and stumbled across some rackmount version of it.

1. Is this nothing more than a two channel dual rec without the orange channel or is it missing the red channel? If not, what are the differences besides rack vs head.

2. How many rack spaces is this thing?... it looks huge.

3. How much are they typically going for used?

4. Is there anything else I should know about them?

Well the "Racktifier" is some call it is basically the same as a two-channel Dual Rectifier just rack-mountable. They have all of the features of the regular dual head, including clean, and distortion channels that can be cloned.
Here is a link to the Mesa website explaining every this head has to offer:

There is NO SOLO FEATURE on these heads, like on the newer versions and the 3-channel heads. The footswitch is a one-button channel switch, to activate the FX loop, a separate footswitch is required. (I have recorded with this head before i bought my Triple. The studio owner/producer owned it. It sounds just like a reg. Dual)
Channel cloning means you can make the channels copy each other, as far as having channel one and channel two in two different distortion modes, but there is only one clean channel on this amp, and to switch to it from the distortion mode on the same channel requires a switch being flipped on the back of the head.

As for going prices, most are selling on ebay for around $1300-1500 (U.S.D) depending on the condition of the head/tubes.

Hope this helps, i know it's been a while since you posted this question....
