Does the Mark V really capture the IIC+ and IV sounds? How close is it?

Buy it, try it, see if it fits.
I'll be waiting for it to show on eBay... Bwaa-Ha-Ha-Haaaaa!!!

And can it do metal?
never tried it, never heard it...but the answer is yes. thats kinda what these amps are made for, no?
No.
If they were made for metal, they'd have one channel,
and the effects loop would have a label saying:
"This Is Where The GE-7 Goes".
They're Swiss Army Amps. That's what all them knobs are for, buttercup. :D

Yes it delivers. Each one comes packed with it's own fleshlight.

And if one was looking for good tone, I'd do the opposite of whatever Mike Morton says.

I'm in a Norwegian death metal tribute band. We play Abba covers and Nickelback exclusively. Should I buy this amp or get a vintage 1966 fender champ and a Boss Metal Zone pedal?

I asked Mark Morton if he had to choose, which would he keep IV or V. He response was the IV. That leads me to believe that they don't sound the same.

Let's see...choose between the amp that he's used pretty much his whole career, recorded and toured with and that he knows inside and out...or give that up to have an amp that's he's played briefly and probably doesn't know much about? Tough choice...

Morton... ? He's the steakhouse guy, right? Does he deliver? I sure could use a good steak. Does the Mark V do meat-el? :D

theyre geared towards metal and modern rock. im sure theyre quite versatile, but to question a modern-day mark series amp's ability to do metal?
metal/modern tones are what theyre used for probably 90 % of the time, vaginaface.

For those of you with ESL classes: Never questioned the ability to do metal, my point was precisely the opposite... :D
By the way, that's where your mom's was...
