Greetings everyone!
Hi I’m new to Mesa Boogie and new to the forums here.
I've been the proud owner of a brand new muti-watt Dual Rectifier for over two months now and have read your forum for about the same time. I've noted that on this forum and in the owners manual that everyone’s opinion on the difference between channel 2 and 3 are that channel 3 is brighter and have more presence than channel 2. Apparently the taper of the two channels presence controls are different. Is this still the case on the new multi-watts, as for me I don't find this the case.
For me Channel 3 is much darker and scooped with less brightness/presence than channel 2. Gain and volume wise they sound the same. I find this with the presence (and all other settings) of both channels equally set. Is this normal? These amps are very rare in my country and therefore haven't seen or played another DR before.
I play an ESP Eclipse with EMG 81/60 through a TS9 into the Dual rectifier into 2 x 2x12 Mesa Recto cabs which I place vertically with the head sitting on both. My settings are quite standard with everything close to 12:00 except the gain which sits around 2:00 (on both channels).
Any advice/comments welcome!
