I was messing around with my Rocktron Xpression today and thought I would post a quick clip. This has no backing track, just guitar. I was trying to achieve a wet tone inspired by Devin's solo material. I love the tone he gets with his solo material. This is a song that I really like off of the Accelerated Evolution release.

I've got the Xpression running through the loop. I have the delay running at 800ms, a touch of compression and chorus to round it out. I am using my Schecter Hellraiser tuned to open C. I boosted the guitar signal with my Maxon OD-9.

What do you think? Would you change or add anything? By no means is this a killer clip (some useless wanking at the end of the clip as well), just looking for some feedback on wet guitar tones. I am somewhat new to this kind of thing.

Here is a clip of the actual song. I like the wet tone he gets on this tune:

I re-recorded the clip without the chorus effect. let me know which you like better!

Sounds good to me. Nice tone, well recorded. Not helping me much with my Mark IV GAS though! I will have to check out the Rocktron piece too! 8)

Too much of the effects IMO....covers up a little too much of the Mark IV lead tone IMO. Then again, I have never listened to Townshed...maybe that's what you were going for.

I saw 3 minutes of devin's video you posted.What a borinnnnnng suff.
10 minutes probably will kill me !I hated his tone.

About your tone I agree with ibanez4life SZ! HOWEVER devil's tone in that video has too much efx too.Sounded like a pod.
Only thing I'll change your tone has too much bass, when you play the lower notes,we hear a boom.Lower bass, let your tone breath

If you want devin's tone from that video, you're almost there. :D

I forgot to lower the bass frequencies. Sorry if it is a bit too boomy.

Heya, one tip. IIRC on that video of his rig that came out with Ziltoid, he actually runs his maxon after the preamp as weird as that sounds. He does it to compress the already distorted signal. It gives it a bit of a direct in sound. If this is the case, then you may want to try to put that maxon in your fx loop.

Thanks for the feedback!

I am still getting used to playing around with wet guitar tones. I redid the clip again with reverb and it is sounding pretty cool!
