DC-5 has NO reverb...what happened?

I have a DC-5 I bought used, and the reverb on both channels has no effect. Cranked to 10 its almost inaudible. Can you guys give me the most likely causes? I'll assume some preamp tube, and I've looked at the tank from the outside and it looks like its hooked up...

check/clean your connections to/from the tank/amp, replace V5 preamp tube, remove tank and make sure the springs are all still attached to both sides of the tank.

My reverb did the same thing a while ago. I took out the tank and when I looked inside a wire had broken off so was a very quick and easy cure.

I think I have a similar, though not as severe problem.

Sometimes the Reverb will crackle, and then either cut out or be very quiet. This happens on both channels. Where is the reverb tank connector located on the DC5? Or could it be a bad preamp tube?

crackling sounds like a preamp tube...

the reverb on my DC5 is terrible and works. when its fixed you might not be satisfied

It's easy to mod though, and still sounds way better than the Verb on the ROV!

This is true!

Also, try a 12AT7 in the reverb slot. I thought it helped my DC-3's reverb.

I just got my DC-3 (finally!!!) and the reverb doesn't seem to work on either channel. I've taken the tank out and checked all of the soldering. The springs are connected. Everything seems fine. The RCA connections seem okay, too.

I haven't swapped out the V5 pre-amp tube yet, but it's not making any crackling noise or anything. The tube "looks" like the others.

Any other thoughts as to what might be causing this problem? Thanks.
