Hello,

I recently sold my Triaxis / 2:90 setup having enjoyed it for the last 10 years. I picked up a used Roadster today and would like to know what year it was made. I searched and found a few other posts asking similar questions but didn't turn up any answers.

My Roadster is serial# VR-19xx and has a red lamp (instead of blue) on the front. Based on the lamp alone I believe it to be a fairly recent model.

Thanks for the help, looking forward to exploring this amp!

I know this sounds like a lame answer .... but, call Mesaboogie and they are awesome ..... they will easily know the date when you give them the serial number..... not only that, they will take the time to answer any other questions....

Thanks for the response. I called them yesterday and got my amps born on date (June 2007) and also found it had a clear service history. They were very helpful!

On the topic of dating amps: My Road king II head I bought last July (my first mesa) has a date etched into the black surface in front of my power tubes. It looked like somebody did it with a screwdriver or whatnot. I bought the amp new from Sweetwater. Is this normal? Or did somebody tag up the inside of my amp who wasn't supposed to?

The Roadster is just an amplifier -- an inanimate object. It may give you pleasure when playing your guitar, but this feeling could never amount to what is derived from real relationships with other humans. Simply put, you may care for your Roadster but your Roadster could never, in return, care for you too. Therefore, I would have to strongly advise against dating your Roadster.

I went the movies the other night with mine.

Honestly, I would go out with mine too, but it's like she has multiple personalities -- four of them to be exact! *drum roll please*
