Well, the launch video is out, and as with the IIC+ launch video, reactions have been kinda "Meh". They do mention that the clean channel is improved, but there is no real statement on whether it is a Rev F or Rev G. I would assume G, as that is the "classic" rectifier sound, and they made 13,000 Rev Gs, compared to about 2500 Rev Fs.

Maybe, but at the price point they will probably be at, you could easily pick up an actual Rev G. That is, unless they are a Rev F, which they haven't really stated yet. I've got a Tremoverb, so I'm good.
I'm definitely interested to find out more. It'd be nice if the fx loop was updated, too, but I don't know if that's on the table or not.

I've got time to think about it in any case.

I got word from someone else on the reissue Rectifier. It has a series FX loop. There was a leaked video from GuitarVilla before the tease date of 1/8/2025. It was posted by anonymous. I took some screen shots of the post but could not copy the video.

If you are a member of the Facebook Mesa/Boogie Owners Group then you may be able to find it. If not, Sorry, I could not get the video to download for sharing.

He also has a video playing the new DR RI:

If it's unclear to anyone why that is definitively a serial loop control, the parallel version has a mix knob in addition to the send level, and the LOOP SELECT "IMPORTANT:" text block includes how to dial in the mix level in order to set your loop level correctly (see annotated tremoverb back panel below).

In the screen shot @bandit2013 included it's just got the send level and you can see by zoom and enhancing that the level instructions no longer mention the mix level.

I may consider one of these eventually. I am still waiting for the Reissue IIC+. I think I will have it by the end of this year. That just seems to be the trend of things these days. I will come home and find a box on porch and wonder what it is after forgetting I ordered the amp.

It's a shame they got rid of the proper leather handle and the leather looking tolex and replaced them with bargain basement stuff.

I predict it's only a matter of time until the leather corners disappear to be replaced by plastic equivalents.

Those little extra touches are part of why I love(d) Mesa stuff and it's a shame they're going.

I couldn’t agree more. Bought a new Fillmore head in December and it looks cheap with the thin plastic-y tolex. Handle feels (is) cheap like plastic. Slip cover is thin and cheap, cheap cheap. The logo on the front slip cover is set so far up it looks strange. The looks and padded slip covers of the 2012 Mark V and 2016 Rectoverb 25 are much nicer. These are nickel and dime cost cutting measures which do more harm to the brand long term than help the bottom line today.

Edit: sorry, back to the Recto reissue! Which does sound fantastic.

Exactly that. I understood it on the mini rec - it's mini, so the thin shell, collapsible handle, rebadged camcorder bag all made sense. Now it's just cost-cutting and you get less but it costs more (value and cost are very different). This is the opposite of progress.

Yeah but if you sell a perfectly done reissue now, how will you get the same people to buy the true historic version in 5 years? With period correct tolex), correct handle, and the same original style knobs on the back?

Seems like perfect Gibson formulaic reissue tactics. Hahahah

Pre-order is in. If I need to replace the handle and the corners, they're not expensive.

I've had to them on my other amps before, which were definitely high-quality when I first got them. Wear just did its thing eventually.
