Hello-

I'm getting a 2x12 3/4 back mesa cab to compliment my Rectoverb combo.
I am somewhat inexperienced with terms like Ohms and Parallel, etc.
I know the Rectoverb has an 8 ohm jack and two 4 ohm jacks.

The cab has one 8 ohm jack and one parallel jack.

If I'm planning connecting the cab so I have access to all 3 speakers,
(1 in the combo, 2 in the cab)

Does anyone have any advice on how to safely do this and get the best results?. I've heard conflicting info from different sources.

Much appreciated..

Thanks.

The 2x12 3/4 back Mesa cabs are 8 ohms stock and the speaker in your combo should be 8 ohms as well. With all speakers going you should have a 4 ohm load total.

Plug the internal speaker to one 4 ohm output and plug the extension cab into the other 4 ohm output.

Could I connect a 4x12 to my rectoverb in a similer manner? (using all speakers?)

As log as the 4x12 cabinet has a total impedence of 8 or 16 ohms.

Because we get this question so much, I've extracted out the Speaker Impedence Matching & Hookup guide from my Boogie manual.

You can find it here:
