Here's my setup:
guitar (in this case, a stock Gibson Les Paul Standard)
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Solo head
in the loop: TC Electronic G-Force --> BBE Sonic Maximizer 362 (bypassed and for sale if anyone is interested)
Mesa Boogie Dual Rec 412 Oversized cab
My problem is that when I am playing the LP clean, the high strings don't sound right. They sound very "fake". It's like a synthetic "warbling" sound. I don't know exactly how to desribe it. When I play my Tele through the same setup, it sounds fine.
Anyone got any ideas about this? I have the effects loop bypassed on the amp so I don't think that has anything to do with it. I have to assume it is the guitar and not the amp since the tele sounds okay. Is that the way a clean LP just is? Maybe the LP would sound better clean if it were run through another amp like a Fender Twin Reverb?
