Reckon the DC 5 is a good backup to a Mark IV?

Obviously I want another Mark IV, but there's a DC5 locally going for £500. Good deal?

Apparently it's in good condition, no major nicks in it. I'm going to try it out soon :)

i have a dc5 and a mark iv

the cleans are almost as good on the dc but the lead channel needs a bit of a boost to get it into mark iv territory. I fine the dc lead channel a bit more modern sounding than the iv (with the boost and some para eq) and i also think its a little looser and less mid focused but its not as sensitive as the mark.

great amp though and more 'consistent' in its tone from day to day than the iv. Its also slightly easier to dial in

it would make a great back up yes but i find the iv overall is a much better amp .

thinking of selling the dc as since i got the iv im just not using at all!

cheers
