Hi
Im in the process of rack mounting My Boogie MKIV
& im looking for some kind of unit (Midi Capable)

That can change the 3 Channels as well as add some of my old Rev/Delay pedals into different Loops/patches.
or with my Rocktron replifex

Some of the units I have been looking into
The Old Rockman Octopus
The CAE 4x4 Looks interesting
not sure about Rocktron Patchmate * have read some negative press*

Can anyone recomend an easy no fuss way of doing this ?

Thanks

That Voodoolab Amp Selector looks pretty cool, too.

I have the original Ground Control MIDI pedal, and it's a great piece of gear.

Thanks for the info guys
I already have a Midi Footpedal The Rocktron Midi Mate

The GCX looks interesting
are there any other inexpencive units worth checking out ?

The Axess Electronic gear looks good but there not rack mountable

I use the Axess stuff and it works great. I just velcro'd it in the back of the rack. Or if you have the space in your rack velcro it on a rack shelf or drawer. I don't think you can get better stuff for the money.

Lights Out,

If you already have the midi pedal you could also look at the TC G-Major.

It is a rack mountable multi effects unit that also has two switching relays to change channels on an amp. It does not have any loops, but the effects in this thing would probably allow you to do away with the pedals.

The TC G-System does have loops though as well as power for any pedals.

No. And from what I have heard (I would state this a rumour, I use to use the GMajor) Mesa doesn't recommend switching it in this way.

Again, I did not hear that from them, so you may want to check.

I use the Axess product with the custom cable for the Mark IV and it works great.

Lights Out,

You are actually only switching 2 channels. Channel 2 on/off and Channel 3 on/off. Channel 1 would be on by default when channels 2 and 3 are off and the mode select switch is set to . Plug one of the TC relays into the switching jack for channel 2 and plug the other TC relay into the switching jack for channel 3. You would probably need to set the mode select switch to "EX SW". I haven't actually done this but in theory it should work.

I've never heard what tim6string is talking about but that doesn't mean that it's not true.

I went with the G-major for this reason. I was thinking if my Triaxis rig went down at a gig I could always plug up one of my Mark III's to finish the night. I guess someday I should really try it before I actually have to do it at a gig.

If you want to try it out you could always buy it from GC (or MF or who ever has a return policy) and if it doesn't work take it back.

You could also just talk to one of the guys up at Boogie and get it straight from the horses mouth instead of going with internet rumor.

The default channel one thing doesn't really work. I was not able to switch 3 channels with the GMajor.
The relay opens and closes and the set up you are talking about would have channel 1 on all the time.

I think the Axess route is much better.

It's technically impossible to switch between the 3 channels of the MarkIV with the G-Major ! i know this because i have both !

I'm sure you guys are correct but now I have to know, I guess I'm a little OCD...

I'm going to have to get my friends Mark IV over to my house and try it.

I hope someone with more technical knowlage might have found a way of doing this :?
