So if you had to decide on either the stock speaker or the Tone Tubby in the combo itself without the additional speaker cabinet, which would you pick and why?

Sorry for the delay here but I wanted to play with the Tubby some more before I returned. The LSS is a **** fine amp the way Boogie ships it but for my playing and tastes I'd definitely keep the Tone Tubby as my lone speaker. To my ears it puts out a full, rich overall tone at lower volumes as well as cranked. Also has alot of detail or clarity both clean and overdriven. Some users call it 3D and I would agree 100% if sound can actually be 3D. The question for me now isn't if I'm going to use it as my main or only speaker but what I'm going to replace the remaining C90 with?

it appears that many of us have been wrestling with the same issue

i have a Dr. z maz 38 NR head, and play it through a carvin 2x12 with vintage 30s... the clean is awesome, and frankly, puts the LSS to shame

so last night i played the lss through the 2x12, and is sounded better, but only better and not awesome...still very nasal...

then i ran the maz 38 through the C90 of the lss, and it sounded crappy..

so the immediate diagnosis is the c90 needs to go...

and then a probable tube overhaul...

Hmmm.....interesting how people hear the same amp differently. I couldn't disagree more with the above poster.

The LSS is anything but Nasal.......

Perhaps a visit to to an E.N.T. may help...with the an emphasis on the "E" :shock:

i have 2x12 lss i also have a 2x12 with v30's its' a great cabnet i have put some good heads through it and they have souned great so i thought i would try my lss through it. it souned o.k it did'nt blow me away with tone in fact i think the c90's sound a lot better than v30's. i get a lot of compliments about the sound i get out of this amp

+1 -- I absolutely love the C90 in my LSS....."different strokes for different folks."
