...using Logic Studio. I am new to recording, and don't have any mic's at the moment. Is there anyway I can record the Roadster direct, from the head itself? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can run a signal from the slave out into an interface or directly into your computers mic in, but it wont sound that good. You really need an instrument or condenser mic. An instrument mic going into an interface or mic pre will get you some pretty nice recording quality.

Yeah, the slave out directly in will sound unspeakably horrid, like a hive of bees - that's where impulses come in! :D However, since you're on a Macbook Pro, you're somewhat limited in the programs that can load impulses; if you use Logic, you're set, cuz Space Designer is just that; otherwise, you'll have to splurge for SIR2 (I believe that's the cheapest one)

And I'm officially a retard for not thoroughly reading the OP, so yeah, Space Designer it is!

It is vitally important that if you use the slave out you still have the amp plugged into a speaker cab or some sort of load. The slave out is not designed to replace a cab. If your trying to record your playing but are trying to avoid deafening yourself you could try going out of the fx send into your recording device. Again you'll need some kind of speaker simulator. You could use Guitar rig or if you find a program an impulse plug-in.

Of course, I didn't mention this cuz I thought it went without saying, but yeah, never have a tube amp off of standby without a cab or some other load (e.g. THD Hotplate, Weber Attenuator, whatever) connected! And actually, definitely better to use the Slave Out than FX send for recording into a cab sim IMO; my experience is the FX send sounds very fuzzy and undefined, whereas the Slave Out sounds much more like what a pre-amp signal should sound like! (meaning, absolutely horrid - until you apply an impulse 8) )

With the higher end Randall cabs, they have XLR plugs on the back they call "mic eliminator." It's basically a cab sim you could use for direct recording. People also report that it works in place of live micing.
