I started out using the boogie 2x12 cabs with my road king head and recently tried a Port City Wave 2x12 cab. While I loved my boogie cab I must admit I now have my 2nd port city cab on order and have my boogie cabs for sale. Anyone else tried the port city stuff? Not to take anything away from boogie but these cabs are the bomb. They are loud as hell, crystal clear and still hold tons of bottom end without ever getting muddy. It cost me about $100 more than a boogie cab but well worth the investment.

Other than being a customer I have no affiliation with port city at all - so please don't take this as a spam, but am so impressed with the product I thought they deserved some kudos.

Anyone else using these cabinets?

Sounds cool! I've been looking into 2x12's and the PC's are highly regarded.

What kind of music are you playing? Through what amp?

I currently play a road king. My style choices are why I went road king as really I'm all over the map. Gig wise I play in a cover band and we cover everything from ac/dc and alice in chains to fall out boy and evanescence to gin blossoms and edwin mcain - so I needed something very versitile.

At home I'm more into the likes of hendrix, zeppelin and andy timmons.

I'm with you on this one brother...... i dont own one but have been looking for a vented cab for a few months now which lead me to both port city and freda..... i've gotten to play both and they are some of the best cabs i've ever played..... i pretty set right now on the Freda as they are a little cheaper and to my ears sounded a little better..... but the port city cab is so good..... i think they can compete volume-wise with a 4x12 and give you a wider spectrum of tone and a better bass responce due to the vents...... nice choice man
