I like 90's better than V30 for just about evey application. They're smoother and don't have any high end spikes or exaggerated mid range.

Here are a few clips with 90's.

Wow...you got some awesome sounds! I really liked the neo-classical soundclip.

i like c90s and i think the more wattage of the speaker you get more low end. i like the smooth ness of the higher watt speakers when i am playing all by my self in my room, but when you get in the band situation the v30's are what you want. i remeber when my buddy bought his first recto it seem as though i could never get as loud as him. no matter what i did didn't matter. v30's just seem to fill the room and cut through the mix. just one of those things that depend on application. it is the same with recording. i think i have and awesome tone then i record it and it sound like poop. so i tend to, no matter what i think i hear, to just stick with the v30s and make myself find something i like, cause in the end results they always sound the best.

I have to agree. I used my ROV for the first time with the band on Monday and although it sounded good, it didn't have enough cut or mids for me. I stuck a V30 in it the other night and I think it sounds better. It's actually a little smoother with the V30 but has the mids to cut through the mix now. Compared to the V30 the C90 has more spikey highs and more lows which is consistent with the Celestion CL-80 which I have used for a long time as well. They are both great sounding speakers, it just depends on the application I suppose.

Thanks. That was a IIC+ except for the Floyd track which was a IV. I have cheap stuff for recording, just an Audiobuddy mic pre and an M-Audio 24/96 soundcard, and Sonar 3.

I have to say that while i like the MC90's, i didn't have any complaints about a Mesa 2x12 vertical cab i used. That cab was loud and punchy. I guess it does all boil down to what amp and cab is being used, tweaking, and amp settings. I know that V30's do record pretty easy, but with certain amps they take some time to get right. For example, while a IIC+ sound great on the 2x12 i had, a VHTUL sounded like crap on it. But the UL did sound great on some old Greenbacks. And recently i found out that the UL didn't sound good at all on a cab loaded with MC90's and EVM 12L's. That head is too damm picky.
