what's the best recorded tone of a Mark III that you think best represents the amp?

(bonus points for samples)

Even though Brad Gillis used 2 IIB with a stereo chorus pedal, i still think the Speak Of The Devil tone is a great example of Mark series tone.

And i have some MarkIII clips in my sig.

I'm not sure how well this represents the Mark III (having never played one), but I love the tone on this clip. I got it off of either Harmony-Central or Rig-Talk's amp forum (killer tune):

My favorite III tone is John Sykes on the "Whitesnake" album in 1987. That's a Coliseum head, the III preamp section driving six 6L6s instead of four.

A band called Into Another has an album called Ignaurus w/ possibly the best tone I've ever heard. From all accounts I've heard, it's a Mark III.

Heathen  I still listen to them sometimes.

Exodus used Mark III's on Pleasures of the Flesh and Danny Spitzs used Mark III on Among the Living.

Heathen - (They used Mesa/Boogie Mark III in 1991, Victims of Deception album) , the best tone IMO :

These are great clips

These Heathen clips sound great!!!
Never heard of that band till now... great riffs too!
That's the tone that I want... I guess I'm an early nineties child, that's the epitome of tone to me.. like a mix of metallica's black album and master of puppets.. awesome in so many ways

Sorry for posting again guys but... OMG... these Heathen clips sound SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good... amazing.. stunning.... orgasmic... I dunno... these has got to be the best tone that i have ever heard, ever!!!!!! I don't want to sound like a 15y/o kid (i'm not, i'm 24) but i haven't ever been so amazed with someone's tone...
thanks for this epiphany, guys

This, to me, is the Mesa sound. The sound that put them on the global map.

Yes, all the other stuff they do/have done is interesting, but the high gain scooped EQ Mark IIC, III, and IV is the ideal metal tone in my opinion.
