Sorry to sound like a drooling kid (hey, I'm 50), but just got an amp stand, and having a hard time wiping the grin off my face after putting my LSS on it. It's a whole new amp! Of course, I realized it was going to make a difference because of the axial response of treble frequencies vs. bass, but it was much more than I expected.

And, the handiness of having the knobs at an easy level to twiddle can't be underestimated.

Yes, I could have put it on a chair - but this is much nicer and more portable.

At some point I'll put the Thiele from my Mk IV up there instead and try that out.

What kind of amp stand is this that you're talking about? I'm curious. :?

Amp stands are a personal choice thing. FWIW, I prefer the amp on the floor (hard floor) and tilted back ...better bass response "coupled" to the floor, especially with larger amps or a multi-spkr combo cab. But with carpeting, maybe little diff between this and a stand. With a smaller amp, though (smaller than even a Subway), there is likely no difference or bass loss when placed on a stand. But for anyone using a chair, no contest ...stands win. As always, YMMV :)

Octavarious...OK, not gold-plated - LOL. On-Stage Stands.

Edward - I hear you. Mine was on the floor in our rehearsal space. Hardwood floor. I understand the coupling issue - used to play this trick with small hi-fi speakers to get better bass response.

But on the stand, there is better bass definition, in my opinion.

It's all to taste, of course, but I like it much, much better on the stand.
