bad USB?

I was considering one of those Lexicon interface systems (Omega, Lamda or the new Alpha) until I read somewhere that USB 1.1 SUCKS for recording stuff... and i'm pretty certain all three do infact use USB 1, so can anybody shed some light on this? thanks!

USB 1 isn't too fast, so chances are you will get some latency if you're multi-tracking / over-dubbing.

Firewire is the way to go!

Yeah. I have had bad times with USB for recording a few times. Firewire is superirior!

I have a USB 2.0 interface, its supposed to be quicker than the firewire, but it depend on what you're connecting to the usb at the same time, and it depends on the quality of the usb "board" as well. I have no problems with mine.It's a edirol UA101 by the way.
