Bad presence knob on Trem / DR?

Hi all,
I recently purchased a Trem-o-Verb. After spending a couple of hours with it I noticed that the orange channel's presence knob doesn't seem to do anything.

I tried various modes and cloning but still no affect to the sound. I called Mesa and they said the first thing would be to replace the pot, so they are sending me one (if it can be repaired for 3.00, that would be awesome).

My question is:

Have any of you ever had something like this? The pot feels fine, and pulling on it while turning doesnt seem to work either. If it's not the pot, what else could it be??

I had a similar problem with my single rect. It turned out to be the master volume control. It was bad and it caused the bass and middle controls to quit working. You can read the thread here.

They sent me the pot. It was an easy fix.

Thats not so bad! Once, one of my Treble controls became a sort of Volume control for that channel! Mesa fixed it for no charge!

That makes me feel a little better. I hope its pretty easy to fix. The guy at mesa said I could do it myself.
