do any of you guys know how loud the amp needs to turned up in order to get the second speaker of a 4x12 cabinet working?

The amp delivers an equal amount of power to all four speakers all the time. If you only hear sound out of one speaker, there's something wrong inside your cabinet. Are you plugged into one of the 4 ohm stereo jacks or something? Even if you are, you should still hear sound from at least two speakers. With the 8 ohm jack all four should be pumping volume out whether the amp is on 0 or 10.

Bedroom, gig, stadium, whatever..... just crank it up. I have a bedroom sized music room and I crank the crap out of my amps. Works just fine.

I have to says yes with some cheap mods that anyone can do.... I have a Single Rec w/ JJ6v6(EL34 mode) in it...which lowers it down to around 25-30 watts (you need the rev2 that allow you to switch between EL34's and 6L6's) and then I run that trough a 4x12 cab. I can run it this way and I am pretty happy. I also just got a TUBEJUICE 100watt and I have to say it work really well w/ the 6V6's. I can turn it up get the tubes to saturate w/o much loss of tone.

Now I just need to take the time to dial in the FX loop with my EQ, Delay and Reverb but that's another story)

That is exactly the amp I have. Please clarify a bit on your post. Maybe I am not understanding what you mean. Are you running 6V6 tubes with the bias switch in the EL34 mode?

Sorry yes....I am running in the EL34 mod w/ JJ6V6's. I checked the bias and they are still a little on the cold side...

Call Eurotubes and they will help.

yes it sure can be too loud for a bedroom or basement but if it sounds good to you and makes you happy then by all means get it. Enjoy it and dont look back,, there will always be someone saying one thing or another isnt meant to be.

Now isn't that a novel idea? I run my Dual with two Yellow Jackets (And 2 EL-84s) for 'low volume applications' although I keep my EL-34s and 6L6s on hand should I ever need more gas.

How do the 6V6s sound compared to 6L6 tubes?
