I'm looking at the Ground Control for pedals and amp switching. Anyone with experience? Pointers? Will the Ground Control work with the Mark V for switching channels?

You will need a way for the Mark V to communicate with the Ground Control. I use a Mini Amp Gizmo from RJM ( http://www.rjmmusic.com/miniampgizmo.php ). You will need the Mark V cable as well for the Mini Amp Gizmo. This is due to the Mark V not accepting MIDI signals and needing a controller to handle this.

I use the Mini Amp Gizmo with the Voodoo Labs Ground Control and GCX and after a few hours of messing around with it found it fairly easy to work with.

I thought that the GCX Guitar Audio Switcher would do that. The GCX Guitar Audio Switcher connects to the Ground Control to control. It is basically 2 units. The foot controller and the actual switcher the pedals connect to. I was wondering if the GCX Guitar Audio Switcher put out the correct signal to control the amp channel switching using the 1/4" connections on the back of the Mark V.

Yes, you will need a GCX switching unit in addition to a Ground Control pedal.

I use a GCX with a Ground Control Pedal to switch my Mark IV and it works perfectly. I use it to switch the channels of my Mark IV,and turn the EQ an/off. At times, I also use it to control a separate preamp which I use in conjunction with the Mark IV's power section. The GCX/Ground Control combination works great.

I have not tried the GCX/Ground Control with my Mark V, but would expect that it would work fine too.

Yes it will, but you did not mention the GCX at all in your previous post.

I use a Control Switcher for channel, EQ & Solo switching, leaving all 8 loops of my GCX for pedals. Both units work flawlessly with the GCP.

I didn't know that the ground control could be used without the switcher. No experience with the unit and no one i know uses one so before I throw $800 at something I'm looking to get educated.

I use the ground control pro and GCX switcher to switch my Mark V Dual Rectifier stereo rig. It works perfectly easy to set up and with endless options. The inbuilt buffer in the GCX is excellent also. I split my signal after the GCX to both my amps and get a good strong signal.

The Ground Control can just be used as a standard MIDI controller. It also controls the GCX loop functionality. I used to have both and they are excellent products....
A friend of mine currently uses it as his controller for his Kemper.

I use the Ground Control and the GCX with my Mark V, TC Electronic G Major 2, and pedals. Everything works wonderfully together!
