Anyone use a pedal to tighten the bottom end on their MKIIc+

The answer my friend is.........filter caps, the big ones. I did experience my DRGX getting tighter bottom end when I got the big caps from mesa. They are physically larger and logically should be able to hold better on electronic charges.

And hopefully you have gone through all the stuff like having the same tubes, and no ear fatigue and such....

The bottom end! If you compare a DRG to a DRGX they have different transformers and would not sound identical. The DRG 105 has higher plate current and will need to be cranked. There are comparison posts on this forum about it, not made by me, search about it, or wait for someone to chime in.

Tony hit the nail on the head.I've done well over 100 Mesa amps for exactly that reason.If those caps are original,fresh ones will tighten things up a whole lot.I recommend Sprague and F&T brands only.You wont believe the improvement.
